The irreconcilable differences

Here is just one instance of why things must get worse before they get better.
She knows she’s on shaky ground, but doesn’t know enough to keep from letting the cat out of the bag.

She knows she can’t give a number or a percent, because there would be a place to start negotiations (which some are still willing to do).  So she skirts…  But, she does let something slip.

““I’ll put it this way. You don’t deserve to keep all of [the money you make] and it’s not a question of deserving…”   — Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky

Feel free to listen to the clip, read the transcript, whatever.  But I’ve not removed any important context, if that’s what you might be thinking (I would think that).

The underlying principle here is that this woman believes she and others have a RIGHT to the product of your labor.  You might have thought this was settled in the 1860’s, but you were wrong!

As Billy pointed out, “If you can make me pay for your healthcare, why can’t you make me pick your cotton?”

So where do we go from here?

– Cato, the American.
